Technically, this is fanart. I play Zidane over on FFMUX, and after being named Acting Regent of Lindblum, he adopted this costume (from a play I made up in the game) so he could sneak out during the Festival of the Hunt. Incognito, he could lend a hand to anyone (particularly girls) who looked like they might need a hand. In the end, it turned out he saved Palom from some particularly nasty monsters. A teenaged Palom thought this girl dressed like a knight was hitting on him and so followed her home. He was shocked and disgusted when Zidane took off the costume.
Palom still hasn't forgiven Zidane about that, though he explained many times that it was just a costume from a play XD The costume design is based heavily on Charlotte's from Samurai Shodown by SNK.
