Cycle 02, Namingway vs. Balthier

*Leyna-art's Balthier vs. my Namingway for the Dissidia Aces contest. Continuing with the previous comic and transitioning from black and white to grayscale to color. One of the requirements for this round was for the submission to be in color. I didn't feel right making it a continuation and suddenly plunging it in to full color, so I worked in that transition (and I worked it in to the story, too).

The other requirement for this round was to portray some sort of atmospheric effect/natural disaster. I went with an earthquake with some "rain" and lightning thrown in for effect.

Ol' Namingway's really down the rabbit hole now, isn't he? Poor Balthier! I felt horrible drawing him this way. Mostly.

I love it! Particularly the Fran joke (I don't think she'd be impressed with Balthier for that :D ) Now I'm really hoping to see Namingway stumbling about and pretty much accidentally defeating every opponent thus winning the tournament.

(It serves the poor soggy sky-pirate right for trying to be sneaky about it all)
